Donations & Donation Requests

Thank You!

ShuBrew Handcrafted Ales & Food would not be what it is today without the support of it’s local community including businesses and organizations in the surrounding area. We cannot thank you enough for your praise, recommendations and overall good word-of-mouth you have spread to help our business thrive and grow. We take pride in partnering with the community and local organizations through donations of beer, gift certificates, private tasting opportunities and of our time.

Our Sponsorships

Since we opened our doors in 2013, we’ve had the opportunity to be involved in some wonderful causes and raise money for those less fortunate than us. In September 2014, we partnered with woman’s fashion retailer Eye Kandy and brewed our Imperial IPA Boot Camp for the first time to be served it at our local American Legion to raise money for Defenders of Freedom. Defenders of Freedom is a national non profit organization that is committed to supporting deployed Troops around the world with personalized care packages, aid wounded Troops in their transition to civilian life and empower all Veterans with life & career mentoring, job search assistance and general transitioning to the civilian sector.  In June of 2015 we partnered with Eye Kandy once again and local My Dog Care Center to help raise money for the K-9 Six Project which facilitates the adoption and training of a shelter dogs for U.S. Veterans in order to help them cope with emotional or other issues, and to provide the necessary support that enable the veteran and dogs to improve the quality of their lives. In 2016 we partnered with The Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy which is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to the development, protection, and promotion of hiking, biking, and walking trails throughout western Pennsylvania. We hope to continue partnering with outstanding non profit organizations like these to help raise money and draw attention to their wonderful causes

Each year we brew a beer during Zelienople’s July Horse Trading Days called Horse Shu in which sales proceeds are donated back to the Zelienople community in some way. In 2014, funds were given to the Zelienople Memorial Skate Park which is being built near the swimming pool to honor the memory of Trevor Barkley, Elijah Lunsford, Sam Bucci and Geoff Gutzwiller. For 2015, funds were raised to help with funding for a fence that is to built for the upcoming Dog Park that is to built at the Zelienople Community Park. In 2016 funds were raised for the Zelienople Public Library to help renovate one of their reading rooms.

While we would like to assist as many organizations as possible, it’s just not possible and the above organizations are the primary sponsorships that we are involved with.  Donation requests will still be considered and must meet the following criteria.

Donation Criteria

While we receive several requests for donations, it is necessary for us to limit the number of donations given away and we have a donations budget for each month. If we have hit our budget for the month then we will not be able donate at that time, but consider us for another event in the future. Requests for donations must be received in writing or via e-mail at least 30 days prior to the event.

Our main product is the production and sale of alcohol and we will cautiously review any donations of beer related products or sponsorship to organizations relating to those under the age of 21. Requests for tastings may conflict with other events that we are involved with and we require any tasting requests be received at least 90 days prior to your event.

Organization Criteria

•Must be a public organization with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.

•Located within the western PA region.

A qualified organization is limited to one donation receipt within a 12 month period.
